See GalleryCellulaze™ is performed under local anesthesia; occasionally, oral sedation is also used to provide a light sleep. Dr. Hu will make a small incision, allowing him to insert a small thin tube known as a cannula underneath the skin.
The cannula used during a Cellulaze™ treatment is different from the instrument used for liposuction, as this one contains a laser fiber that produces energy and directs it to precisely the right area. The heat transmitted by this laser releases the fibrous bands that result in the appearance of cellulite. It also reduces lumps of fat that protrude from underneath the skin as well.
